A serene escape in Kyoto
Staying at Yuno Yado Shoei was a serene experience filled with the essence of traditional Japan. The onsen was a redeeming highlight, soothing after a day of exploring. Excitedly, we wore the provided robes, relished the complimentary tea, and soaked in the warm waters. The staff was always amicable, ensuring our needs were met. The private dining experiences were especially memorable, as we enjoyed meals while appreciating the tranquil ambiance created by the tatami floors and low tables.
While the location was charming and surrounded by local vibes, it was somewhat distant from major attractions. Traveling to bus stops took about 15 minutes, which was an inconvenience, especially on busy days. The breakfast timing felt a bit restrictive for those wanting to sleep in, closing at 8:30 AM. Additionally, an unexpected change in room size during our stay added a bit of frustration, making it a squeeze for our group.

beautiful hotel, amazing views, lovely decor
It's a bit challenging to find since it's hidden on a side street!!! The bath hours are unreliable. we found them closed even after the supposed opening time!!! A confusing meal reservation process adds unnecessary hassle!!!

i almost gave this place a good review, but the housekeeping was pushy, really unsettling. i had to wrestle with my luggage, no logical place for it at all! expected a warm welcome gift for dealing with the chaos, but nope. such a disappointment—definitley not the luxurious experience i envisioned. stayed elsewhere before and was pampered!

Staying here with friends was great! The onsen was relaxing, and the traditional meals were delicious. We enjoyed visiting the nearby Ginkaku-ji and the Philosopher's Path. Make sure to reserve dinner in advance. it’s well worth it. The staff was super helpful, and the location was very convenient for exploring.
It was a bit tricky to find at first since it’s deep in a residential area. Once there, though, everything was fine. Just note the public baths close at 11 PM, so plan accordingly!

I loved the spacious room which made it comfortable for my two sons to play around. The peaceful ambiance helped us relax, and the onsen experience was fantastic! The kids enjoyed wearing traditional gowns for meals, especially at dinner when we tried delicious kaiseki food.
My wife says that a kids' play area would be great.
